1Who we are

Song Scoop Showdown ("the app", "we", "us") is a pass-and-play music party game published by Brownberg LLC. This policy explains what the app does and doesn't do with information when you play. It covers both the app and this website, songscoop.net.

2Information we collect

None. The app has no sign-up, no login, and no user profile. We do not ask for, collect, or transmit your name, email address, phone number, contacts, location, photos, microphone input, or any other personal or device identifier. We run no analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting services, so no usage or behavioural data is gathered or sent to us or anyone else.

Because we collect nothing, there is nothing for us to sell, rent, or hand over — and we never do.

3What's stored on your device

To let you pick up a game where you left off, the app saves a small amount of information locally on your phone only. It never leaves the device and we cannot see it. This includes:

• Your coin balance and which song packs you've unlocked
• Game settings, such as your chosen target score
• A flag noting you've seen the one-time welcome tutorial

This data is held in the app's private storage (Android SharedPreferences). Uninstalling the app removes it. Clearing the app's data from your device settings resets it.

4Song previews & Apple's iTunes

The game plays 30-second song previews. These are streamed on demand from Apple's iTunes Search API and preview CDN — the app requests them only from Apple-owned addresses (itunes.apple.com, *.mzstatic.com, music.apple.com) over a secure HTTPS connection.

Like any request to a web service, when the app fetches a preview or its cover art, Apple's servers receive the request — including your device's IP address and the song being looked up — in order to send the audio back. That exchange is between your device and Apple and is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. We are not sent, and never see, any of it.

Where the app links out to buy a track, it opens Apple's store in your browser or the Music app. We include those links as attribution for the free previews Apple provides; we earn nothing from them.

5In-app purchases

The app offers optional paid song packs. All purchases are processed entirely by Google Play Billing. Payment is handled by Google — the app never sees or stores your card number, billing address, or any payment details. We receive only an anonymous confirmation from Google that a pack was purchased, which the app uses to unlock it on your device.

Information you give Google to complete a purchase is handled under Google's Privacy Policy.

6No ads, no tracking

Song Scoop Showdown contains no advertising and no third-party tracking or analytics SDKs. Nothing on the home screen, in a round, or on this website profiles you, builds an advertising ID, or follows you across apps or sites.

7Children's privacy

The app is family-friendly and safe for players of all ages. Because it collects no personal information from anyone, it collects none from children. We do not knowingly gather data from children under 13 (or the equivalent age in your region) — there is simply no data collection to begin with.

8Data security

All network requests the app makes use encrypted HTTPS connections and are restricted to a fixed list of Apple-owned hosts. Since no personal data is collected or transmitted to us, there is no personal database to breach on our side. On-device data stays within the app's private, sandboxed storage.

9Your rights

Privacy laws such as the GDPR and CCPA give you rights to access, correct, or delete personal data a company holds about you. We hold no personal data about you, so there is nothing for us to retrieve or erase. You remain in full control of the app's on-device data at any time by clearing the app's data or uninstalling it.

10Changes to this policy

If the app ever changes in a way that affects this policy, we'll update this page and revise the "last updated" date above. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect. Continuing to use the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
